A typical good morning in America starts with breakfast. This might start with a cup of coffee (keto-friendly, so we are on a roll), popping some toast in the toaster (Houston we have a problem), or a big bowl of cereal (well that just won’t fly).

In the keto Facebook groups I belong to, I see this complaint all too often, “I miss my cereal!”, or if you are like me, then you may reach your limit fairly quickly with yet another egg breakfast. I have put together a few keto-friendly breakfast options that will get you out of your breakfast doldrums and excited to get out of bed in the morning!

Easy Keto Biscuits and Gravy from Hey Keto Mama

1.) Our first contender is this recipe for Easy Keto Biscuits and Gravy – Hey Keto Mama from the kitchen of Hey Keto Mamma. I worked as a waitress in a mom-and-pops café serving breakfast for many years, and there was no better seller than this tried and true comfort food. Being able to enjoy a plate of biscuits and gravy while on the keto diet is just another reason why this is the best WOE out there. I personally tested this recipe out, and these biscuits are *chef’s kiss*

When you are eating keto and you begin to despair that you will never get to enjoy another warm slice of buttered toast again, fear not. There are keto bread alternatives that can curb your “carby” cravings!

2.) When my garden is overproducing zucchini, as gardens are wont to do, what is left to do but make zucchini bread! I LOVE zucchini bread, and this recipe for Low Carb and Keto Zucchini Bread or Muffins • Low Carb with Jennifer (jenniferbanz.com) is Your Keto Kitchen approved! Eating a slice of this bread toasted and slathered in butter with your cup of AM  keto coffee – Starbucks ain’t got nothing on you!

When your inner child cries out for a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch, your totally in control, keto, adult self, can heed that call!

3.) If you want to have your keto diet, but you want your cereal too, there are options. Do not despair! There are prepackaged options that you can purchase, or if you prefer to be in control of the ingredients and have a fresh product on hand try this recipe Cinnamon Crunch Keto Breakfast Cereal – Trina Krug with your favorite low-carb milk or a splash of heavy cream. Trina Krug offers a great perspective on holistically eating keto so that it is a healthy sustainable lifestyle choice.

4.) Another great cereal alternative is keto granola. There are tons of great recipes out there, but I really like this Keto Chocolate Hazelnut Granola – All Day I Dream About Food. The combination of hazelnut, vanilla, and cocoa is reminiscent of a Nutella spread. A bowl of this sweet treat with milk is sure to curb the worst cereal cravings.

Keto Berry Smoothie from yourketokitchen.com

5.) If you are a smoothie person, this recipe for a keto-friendly berry smoothie is another way to start your morning off on the right foot. If you are like me and you don’t add any sweeteners, then it is only 3 ingredients. You can have this prepped and ready in just a couple of minutes on those mornings when you are pressed for time! 6.) Muffins are another morning treat that pairs well with that first cup of coffee of the day. In the hunt for the best keto muffin recipe, this one https://ketoinpearls.com/keto-lemon-poppyseed-muffins/ stood up to the test. I am a big fan of a good lemon poppy seed muffin, and this keto version is a great replacement for the sugary carb-heavy confections you find in stores. Anna at Keto in Pearls emphasizes clean ingredients, and with her southern charm permeating her recipes and a focus on unprocessed keto ingredients, her recipes do not disappoint.

Sometimes eggs and bacon on repeat can get old, but maybe that old classic just needs to be dressed up differently to catch your fancy!

Savory Scallion Pancakes from yourketokitchen.com

7.) I love a savory breakfast. So, I endeavored to create a combination of keto pancake perfection that when loaded up with classic breakfast ingredients would serve to satisfy that craving. I perfected this savory scallion pancake. Topped with chopped bacon, scrambled eggs, pickled jalapenos, a dollop of sour cream, and drizzled with your favorite hot sauce (I used Frank’s Red Hot), this breakfast stunner will not disappoint! 8.) Every year on Christmas morning my mom makes eggs benedict. I wait with bated breath for 364 days for this meal. To say it is one of my favorites would probably be an understatement. This recipe includes a 90-second keto bread as the alternative to the English muffin and a decadent, lemony, hollandaise sauce recipe. I do not think I will be waiting until Christmas to test this one out https://mamabearscookbook.com/keto-eggs-benedict/

9.) The breakfast burrito is another item that flew out the window at the café where I used to work. All of those classic breakfast ingredients wrapped up in a tortilla and topped with salsa, avocado, and cheese just can’t be beat. For a keto alternative to a giant flour tortilla, the Diet Chef uses the Egglife Wrap which has zero carbs! The recipe only takes 20 minutes to put together.
